Puig Tower T1

Plaça Europa rises midway between El Prat Airport and the city of Barcelona as one of the fastest-developing business districts in the metropolitan area. The masterplan, designed by Alberto Viaplana, reflects an urban episode in which autonomous, clearly identifiable towers unfold. Among them stand the corporate headquarters of Puig.

Puig Tower T1 is characterized architecturally by a glass spiral that envelops the volume, creating a unified figure and referencing, through materiality and transparency, the value Puig has always placed on the containers of its fragrances.

With a height of 109 meters, the tower is organized on a square plan of 27.5 by 27.5 meters. The floor plan emphasizes the importance of the central core, which not only resolves vertical circulation and services, but also contributes to defining and structuring the usable space.

Around this core, the work areas unfold, allowing occupants to enjoy views over Barcelona’s urban landscape. The glazed band provides an attractive filter for the interiors while improving solar exposure conditions within the building.

The corporate program of the tower includes an auditorium or debate hall with adjoining meeting rooms. On the lower floor, the lobby and reception area connect via a spiral staircase to the first floor, where a cafeteria space is located. This level does not occupy the entire footprint, creating a double-height space that lends distinction to the entrance lobby. The next two floors house a restaurant with kitchen facilities and a gym, while the remaining floors are dedicated to office operations.

In terms of interiors, the floors were designed with layouts that free the spaces from partitions, employing open-plan configurations and glazed volumes to maintain a sense of neutrality, lightness, and purity. The aim was to achieve unity between the architecture and its interiors, maximizing the use of natural light from the façade to the central core.
