Poblenou is known as the neighborhood of a thousand chimneys, a legacy of its industrial past that still today preserves a strong entrepreneurial spirit. It is a district where tradition and modernity, craftsmanship and technological innovation coexist, forming the backbone and driving force of the 22@ technology hub.
This dialogue between craftsmanship and modernity is reflected in every detail of the project —from the materials, such as extruded terracotta pieces produced through new industrial processes acting as solar filters, to the copper tones that recall the façades of the former factories that once characterized the neighborhood. The building’s morphology integrates seamlessly into the urban fabric with deep respect for the surrounding structures, among them the former factory La Escocesa, built in 1852.
